Privacy Policy — Audio Only for YouTube

Last updated: 2026-10-02
Unofficial browser extension (Chrome / Edge, Manifest V3). Not affiliated with Google or YouTube.

1. Overview

Audio Only for YouTube helps you listen to YouTube with reduced video bandwidth. This policy explains what data is handled and why.

2. Data we process

2.1 On your device

The extension may store locally:

• Audio-only preference, restore quality, speed, volume
• Theme / appearance and language preference
• Estimated usage statistics

This data stays on your device unless you clear storage or uninstall.

2.2 Permissions-related access

To provide the feature, the extension may access YouTube pages you open, read tab URLs for messaging, inject scripts on matching YouTube pages, and observe in-page navigations. We do not use this for advertising profiles.

2.3 Network

The current version has no product backend. Your browser still talks to YouTube/Google as usual; those services have their own policies.

3. What we do not collect

• We do not sell personal data
• We do not require an account for core features
• We do not upload your watch history to our servers in the current version

4. Children

Not directed at children under 13.

5. Retention & choices

Local data remains until cleared or the extension is uninstalled. You can turn audio-only off anytime.
