This privacy policy describes how the extension handles information. The extension is designed to work locally in your browser.
1. Summary
- No extension account is required.
- We do not operate a backend that receives your videos or course files.
- Lecture, resource, caption, and HLS merge processing happen on your device.
- We do not sell personal data.
- DRM-protected / encrypted lectures cannot be downloaded and are blocked.
2. Data the extension accesses

3. Data we do not collect
We do not intentionally collect or send to our servers: account contents, payment data, precise location, unrelated browsing history, analytics/ad IDs, or your finished files (they are saved via the browser Downloads folder). This extension does not include third-party analytics or ad SDKs.
4. Permissions
Tabs and side panel APIs power course detection and UI. Downloads saves files. Storage holds settings and history. Offscreen documents run local remux. Host permissions cover Udemy and its media CDNs only for fetching media and materials you requested.
5. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. Network requests go to Udemy and related CDNs only as needed for download.
6. Retention & choices
History and settings stay on your device until you clear them or uninstall. You can clear history in the side panel. Files already saved to Downloads remain unless you delete them yourself.
